Data Use for Accountability in Colombia

By TAI (Role at TAI)

This Collaboration Case Note describes TAI’s efforts to understand why access to data has not improved civil society advocacy for accountability around the mining sector in Colombia. The TAI Secretariat, members, and partners began collaboration as exploration, with a partner-led scoping and assessment work. This exploration then developed into alignment with multiple members synchronizing their work.

The collaboration yielded evidence-based actionable ideas to funder work and multi-member investments to address gaps identified through the assessment. Some of the barriers to collaboration use included TAI’s little control over the assessment timeline as well as time constraints and institutional differences of collaboration participants.
